Surveying can come in a variety of forms. Lots of homeowners will encounter a Home Buyer’s Survey as part of the procedure of buying or selling a home. The Home Buyer’s Survey is completed to make certain that the home buyer is completely conscious of the condition of the house they are buying, alongside any likely concerns around insulation, damp proofing or drainage. For older properties or for properties where the buyer is less assured of its condition, a full building survey can be conducted, which goes into more detail when compared to a Home Buyer’s Survey, and will point out any further issues with the house as well as involving an inspection of the land surrounding the building.

Other types of survey include a land survey, which will involve an assessment of the condition of the land. Surveyors can also undertake snagging reports, which are carried out after a new build is completed to point out any concerns or defects with the quality of the building which may then be rectified.

When looking for a company to undertake surveying work, ensure you choose a chartered surveyor qualified by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Aberdour is an old village on the south coast of Fife, Scotland. It is often called the Jewel of Fife because of its charming scenery. It had a population of 1633 in the 2001 census. It lies between the larger towns of Burntisland and Dalgety Bay.
The village’s name comes from the Pictish, which indicates that Aberdour has been around since the Dark Ages. Until the 19th century when the railway arrived, Aberdour was actually split in two villages. The railway has won many ‘best kept station’ awards, and the ticket inspectors were known for singing down the carriages. It is a 30-minute train drive to Edinburgh from Aberdour, which increased its popularity with commuters.
In the middle of the village lies Aberdour Castle. It was a little hall house overlooking the Dour Burn in the 13th century. The oldest part of it that remains is one of the oldest surviving stone castles in mainland Scotland. Close to the castle is St Fillan’s church which is one of the best-preserved medieval parish churches in Scotland.
If you require a new boiler for your house in Aberdour, it’s best to get no less than three quotations from reliable companies.
