A structural inspection is commonly only performed when a structural defect or issue is discovered or suspected. Generally during the procedure of a Home Buyer’s Survey if any structural problems are suspected they’ll be noted for further investigation by a specialist structural engineer, who will be able to determine the specific problem and advise on the possible approaches to rectify.
