A structural inspection is generally only performed when a structural defect or problem is recognised or suspected. Usually during the process of a Home Buyer’s Survey if any structural problems are suspected they will be documented for further investigation by a specialist structural engineer, who’ll be able to identify the precise problem and suggest the likely techniques to correct.
