A structural inspection is usually only performed when a structural defect or problem is discovered or suspected. Typically during the process of a Home Buyer’s Survey if any structural problems are suspected they’ll be noted for further investigation by an experienced structural engineer, who’ll be able to identify the precise problem and suggest the likely approaches to fix.
