Planning permission is an essential requirement of any alterations to your house. You can engage the services of an architect or architectural services business to assist you through the procedure of obtaining planning permission for your home extension. Architects are familiar with submitting planning applications, and will have a good understanding of the requirements and limits both nationally and in your local area. The requirements for planning permission do differ among local authorities, and they’ll take into account things like the design of the properties in the area, car parking requirements, and the needs of neighbouring properties, among other aspects. In addition, planning permission requirements are more restrictive in conservation areas or if your property is a listed building.

Architects can help with every area of your planning application, from creating technical and architectural drawings to submitting paperwork with the local authority. They can also make sure that your planned work is designed to a high standard, creating practical and aesthetically pleasing spaces that will complement your current property. Although some alterations to your home are included in permitted development rights and as a consequence won’t require planning permission, you’ll still need to adhere to building regulations. Hiring an architect to draft the plans for your alteration will guarantee that any work you undertake will conform to these regulations and be of a high standard.

Chard is a town and a civil parish in the English county of Somerset. It lies on the A30 road close to the Devon border, 15 miles (24 km) south west of Yeovil. The parish has a population of roughly 13000 and, at an elevation of 121 metres (397 ft), Chard is the southernmost and highest town in Somerset. Administratively Chard comprises part of the district of South Somerset. The name of the town was Cerden in 1065 and Cerdre in the Domesday Book of 1086. Soon after the Norman Conquest, Chard was held by the Bishop of Wells. The town’s first charter was from King John in 1234. Chard is most famously called the birthplace of powered flight, as in 1848, John Stringfellow initially established that engine-powered flight was attainable. Percy and Ernist Petter, who formed Westland Aircraft Works, witnessed a few of Stringfellow’s demonstrations in Chard and often asked for support in the formation of Westland’s 1st aircraft development factory on the outskirts of Yeovil. Agusta Westland now holds the Henson and Stringfellow lecture yearly for the RAeS. Chard Reservoir, about a mile north east of the town, is a Local Nature Reserve, and Snowdon Hill Quarry a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest. Major employers in the town consist of Numatic International Limited and also the Oscar Mayer food processing plant. You can find a range of sporting and cultural facilities, with secondary education being supplied at Holyrood Academy. Religious sites include the Church of St Mary the Virgin which dates from the late 11th century. For all of your property upgrades, make sure that you utilise trustworthy pros in Chard to ensure you get the very best quality.
