Surveying comes in many different forms. Most homeowners will encounter a Home Buyer’s Survey within the procedure of buying or selling a house. The Home Buyer’s Survey is undertaken to make certain that the home buyer is fully informed of the condition of the home they are buying, as well as any possible concerns around insulation, damp proofing or drainage. For older properties or for properties where the buyer is less assured of its condition, a full building survey can be executed, which goes into more detail than a Home Buyer’s Survey, and will point out any additional defects with the property as well as including an examination of the land surrounding the building.

Other types of survey include a land survey, which will involve an examination of the condition of the land. Surveyors can also undertake snagging reports, which are undertaken after a new build is finalised to highlight any problems or defects with the quality of the building which may then be rectified.

When looking for a company to attempt surveying work, ensure you choose a chartered surveyor qualified by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Chard is a town and a civil parish in the English county of Somerset. It lies on the A30 road close to the Devon border, 15 miles (24 km) south west of Yeovil. The parish includes a population of approximately 13000 and, at an elevation of 121 metres (397 ft), Chard is the southernmost and highest town in Somerset. Administratively Chard forms a part of the district of South Somerset. The name of the town was Cerden in 1065 and Cerdre in the Domesday Book of 1086. Following the Norman Conquest, Chard was held by the Bishop of Wells. The town’s first charter was from King John in 1234. Chard is most famously known as the birthplace of powered flight, as in 1848, John Stringfellow first established that engine-powered flight was attainable. Percy and Ernist Petter, who formed Westland Aircraft Works, witnessed a number of Stringfellow’s demonstrations in Chard and often asked for support in the formation of Westland’s first aircraft development factory on the outskirts of Yeovil. Agusta Westland now holds the Henson and Stringfellow lecture yearly for the RAeS. Chard Reservoir, roughly a mile north east of the town, is a Local Nature Reserve, and Snowdon Hill Quarry a geological Site of Special Scientific Interest. Major employers within the town consist of Numatic International Limited as well as the Oscar Mayer food processing plant. You will find a variety of sporting and cultural facilities, with secondary education being supplied at Holyrood Academy. Religious sites include the Church of St Mary the Virgin which dates back to the late 1200’s. For all of your home upgrades, be sure that you use trustworthy experts in Chard to ensure you get the very best quality.
