A structural inspection is generally only performed when a structural defect or issue is discovered or suspected. Generally during the procedure of a Home Buyer’s Survey if any structural problems are suspected they’ll be noted for additional investigation by a specialist structural engineer, who’ll be able to determine the specific problem and advise on the possible methods to fix. When there is a more substantial suspected problem or the building’s background is particularly poor, a general structural inspection may be undertaken which will require an inspection of the entire structure and all load-bearing aspects of the building, together with inspections of the surrounding site and any possible influences it might have, such as drainage issues or any trees near to the foundations of the building.

Any structural inspection will recommend the potential extent of any repair work that is required to put right the issue. When searching for a structural engineer, look for Chartered Surveyors who will be members of either the Institution of Structural Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Beckenham is a district inside the London Borough of Bromley. It borders Beckenham Place Park and Bellingham within the London Borough of Lewisham. It’s 13.5 km south east of Charing Cross.

Beckenham was a small village inside the borough in Kent mostly with land serving as private parkland until the railway was constructed in 1857. Just after that, an entrepreneurial family started constructing villas which brought on the population to rise massively from just 2,000 to 26,000 between 1850 and 1900. Since 1900, housing has been built at a steadier pace, meaning the populace is starting to even out. At the 2011 census, the populace stood at 56,668.

The district is served by 3 principal railway stations as well as six more within the post town. There is also two Croydon Tramlink stations to the west of the district. Transport for London buses serve the Beckenham area to link it with other towns such as Bromley, Catford, Croydon and Crystal Palace.

Beckenham is identified for its many places of worship. St George’s Church is the primary parish church and stands in the centre of the district. It extends back to around 1100, but was majorly rebuilt in the end of the nineteenth century. It contains a 13th century lynch gate that is considered to be one of the oldest of its type in England.
