A structural inspection is commonly only performed when a structural defect or problem is discovered or suspected. Often as part of the procedure of a Home Buyer’s Survey if any structural problems are suspected they’ll be noted for additional investigation by a specialist structural engineer, who’ll be able to determine the specific problem and advise on the likely options to correct.
