Planning permission is an important aspect of any extensions to your house. You can engage the services of an architect or architectural services business to direct you through the process of obtaining planning permission for your home alteration. Architects are experienced with submitting planning applications, and will have a good knowledge of the requirements and restrictions both nationally and in your local area. The majority of planning permission applications are granted, particularly if you can show that your building work is sympathetic to the conditions established by local authority policy.

Architects can help with every area of your planning application, from producing technical and architectural drawings to submitting paperwork with the local authority. They can also make sure that your planned work is designed to a high standard, creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces that will complement your current property. While some alterations to your house are allowed by permitted development rights and as a consequence won’t require planning permission, you’ll still need to abide by building regulations. Hiring an architect to draw up the plans for your alteration will guarantee that any work you undertake will adhere to these regulations and be of a high standard.

Catterick Garrison is a significant garrison and town located 3 miles south of Richmond in the Richmondshire district of North Yorkshire, England. The town lies in the Central Richmondshire electoral division of North Yorkshire County Council and divided among the Hipswell and Scotton wards of Richmondshire District Council. The town is divided among two civil parishes. The southern part of the town, south of a small stream known as Leadmill Gill, is in the civil parish of Scotton. The northern part forms the greater part of the civil parish of Hipswell. Each parish has its own parish council. It is the biggest British Army garrison in the world, having a population of about 13000 and measuring over 2400 acres. The original intention for Catterick was to become a short-term camp to accommodate two full divisions with about 40000 men in 2000 huts. However, under plans announced by the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in November 2005, the population of Catterick Garrison is expected to develop to over 25000 by 2020, making it the largest population centre within the local area. Lacking a true town centre, the Garrison gained its first substantial supermarket in 2000, together with a retail park called ‘Richmondshire Walk’, which also includes a McDonalds, a Poundstretcher and also a Peacocks, amongst others. ‘Catterick Leisure Centre’ is a purpose built complex opposite the retail park, opened in July 2009, and it offers a broad spectrum of leisure and fitness facilities like a swimming pool, plus a gym, in addition to an adjoining public library. For all your home upgrades, ensure that that you employ trustworthy professionals in Catterick Garrison to ensure you get the most effective quality.
