Surveying can come in a number of forms. Most homeowners will experience a Home Buyer’s Survey within the process of selling or buying a house. The Home Buyer’s Survey is carried out to ensure the home buyer is fully conscious of the condition of the property they are buying, alongside any likely concerns around insulation, damp proofing or drainage. For older properties or for properties where the buyer is less confident of its condition, a full building survey can be conducted, which goes into more detail when compared to a Home Buyer’s Survey, and will point out any additional defects with the house as well as involving an examination of the land surrounding the building.
Surveyors can also help with any extensions, conversions or alterations that you would like to have done on your existing property. They will offer advice about how your alteration might have an impact on your neighbours, either in terms of their right to light or by requiring a party wall agreement.
When searching for a company to undertake surveying work, make sure you choose a chartered surveyor qualified by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Abergele is a community and small market town. The meaning of the name Abergele may be understood by ‘Aber’ which is the Welsh word for estuary, and ‘Gele’, the name of the river which runs through the town. Gele is a dialectal form of gelau, which means spear, and is believed to be describing the act of the river cutting through the land. It has also been suggested that this river is named because its waters flash brightly. It’s situated on the north coast of Wales in between the holiday resorts of Colwyn Bay and Rhyl, in Conwy County Borough. Its northern suburb of Pensarn lies on the Irish Sea coast and is identified for its beach, where it’s claimed by some that a ghost ship has been sighted.
Abergele and Pensarn railway station serve both resorts. The town itself lies on the A55 road and is recognised for Gwrych Castle. The town is surrounded by woodland covered hillsides, which contain caves home to the rare lesser horseshoe bat. The highest hill is Moelfre Isaf (1040 ft) to the south of the town. You can also find outstanding views from Cefn-yr-Ogof, which measures 669 feet, Tower Hill, which is 587 feet, and Castell Cawr (known locally as Tan-y-Gopa) which is 620 feet. Castell Cawr is an Iron Age hillfort, and one of several in the community.
Dinorben hillfort to the east of town was destroyed in the 1980s. Based on the 2011 Census, the town has a permanent population of around 10577 people. Within this population, roughly 29 per cent have a substantial understanding of Welsh.
