Buxton is a spa town in Derbyshire. It is on the border of the county boundary, with Cheshire to the west and Staffordshire to the south, Buxton is often known as ‘The Gateway to the Peak District National Park’. Historically a municipal borough, Buxton joined with other locations in 1974 to establish the local government district and borough of High Peak within the county of Derbyshire.
