Architectural drawings are employed for many purposes, and may come in a number of diverse forms depending on your requirements. For most extensions or loft conversions at least some kind of architectural drawing will be required, either to submit to councils or local authorities for planning permission or building regulations approval, or for use by building contractors to correctly carry out the building works.
Floor plans, site plans and elevation drawings will generally need to be created to submit to local authorities to either acquire planning permission or to guarantee that the proposed work is performed within permitted development rights. These drawings will show the scale of the proposed works, and offer the planning officer a sense of the way the work may interact with the nearby area. For construction requirements as well as for building regulations approval, technical drawings are often generated which detail the types of material employed in the building work for structural and insulation purposes.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is a London borough in south-east London, England. Taking its name from the historic town of Greenwich, the London Borough of Greenwich was formed in 1965 by the amalgamation of the former area of the Metropolitan Borough of Greenwich with part of the Metropolitan Borough of Woolwich towards the east. The local council is Greenwich London Borough Council which meets in Woolwich Town Hall. The council’s offices are also primarily based in Woolwich, the principle urban centre in the borough. It covers a total area of 18.28 square miles.
As outlined by population estimates during 2014, the borough includes a permanent population of about 268678 inhabiants. The Prime Meridian running through Greenwich as well as the Greenwich Observatory is exactly where the designation Greenwich Mean Time, or GMT began, and on which all world times are based.
Greenwich was among six host boroughs for the 2012 London Olympics and events were held at the Royal Artillery Barracks for shooting, Greenwich Park for equestrianism, and also the O2, the former Millennium Dome, for gymnastics and basketball. It is also the home borough of professional football club Charlton Athletic. To mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, Greenwich became a Royal Borough on 3rd February 2012. This is partly a direct result of its historic links with the Royal Family, and to its UNESCO World Heritage Site status as residence of the Prime Meridian.
