Technical drawings are created for a number of different products, and you might encounter technical drawings at a variety of stages throughout any building work you perform. Often, technical drawings are generated by an architect or structural engineer when planning a conversion or extension. These technical drawings are typically produced for the construction contractor, and will feature specifications for the types of materials used for specific elements of the build as well as the methods of construction to be performed. Technical drawings also contain measurements for a variety of elements of the building, including ceiling heights and floor plans.
Technical drawings can also be created for many of the discrete elements which may be bought as part of the project, for example windows and doors. Manufacturers will produce technical drawings for their products to guarantee they can be integrated as easily as possible into building designs. Technical drawings will also generally have to be submitted to local authorities to receive approval that the proposed work conforms to building regulations.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is a London borough in south-east London, England. Taking its name from the historic town of Greenwich, the London Borough of Greenwich was formed in 1965 by the amalgamation of the former area of the Metropolitan Borough of Greenwich with a part of the Metropolitan Borough of Woolwich towards the east. The local council is Greenwich London Borough Council which meets in Woolwich Town Hall. The council’s offices are also primarily based in Woolwich, the primary urban centre in the borough. It covers a total area of 18.28 square miles.
As outlined by population estimates from the middle of 2014, the borough features a permanent population of about 268678 people. Greenwich is most famously referred to as the traditional location of the Prime Meridian, on which all Coordinated Universal Time is based.
In 2012, Greenwich was listed as a top ten global destination by Frommer’s, which makes it the only UK destination to become listed. It’s also the home borough of professional football club Charlton Athletic. To mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, Greenwich became a Royal Borough on 3rd February 2012. This is partly a result of its historic links with the Royal Family, and to its UNESCO World Heritage Site status as residence of the Prime Meridian.
