The process for dealing with party walls in terms of building and construction works, especially any conversions or extensions to your house, can be tricky. However, if party wall notices are considered from the early phases of a project, and you are sure to employ surveyors to undertake the necessary surveys as early as possible then it can be simpler to get a Party Wall Agreement.
You must seek a Party Wall Agreement if your planned work consists of either building on or at the boundary line between two properties, or on an existing party wall or structure, or if your project necessitates digging below and close to the pre-existing foundation line of the adjoining property. In all of these examples, you must submit a Party Wall Notice to the owner of the neighbouring property. This includes all owners of the property, so if the neighbouring property is a leasehold or home with multiple occupancy you might need to serve this notice to a number of people. Your Party Wall Notice should include information about yourself and your property as well as information regarding the scope and nature of the proposed work.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich is a London borough in south-east London, England. Taking its name from the historic town of Greenwich, the London Borough of Greenwich was formed in 1965 by the amalgamation of the former location of the Metropolitan Borough of Greenwich with part of the Metropolitan Borough of Woolwich towards the east. The local council is Greenwich London Borough Council which meets in Woolwich Town Hall. The council’s offices are also primarily based in Woolwich, the main urban centre in the borough. It covers a total area of 18.28 square miles.
According to population estimates from the middle of 2014, the borough features a permanent population of around 268678 people. Greenwich is most famously referred to as the traditional location of the Prime Meridian, on which all Coordinated Universal Time is based.
In 2012, Greenwich was listed as a top 10 global location by Frommer’s, rendering it the only UK destination to be listed. It is also the home borough of professional football club Charlton Athletic. To mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II, Greenwich became a Royal Borough on 3rd February 2012. This is partly a consequence of its historic links with the Royal Family, and to its UNESCO World Heritage Site status as home of the Prime Meridian.
