Surveying can come in a number of forms. Lots of homeowners will come across a Home Buyer’s Survey within the procedure of buying or selling a house. The Home Buyer’s Survey is undertaken to guarantee the home buyer is totally knowledgeable about the condition of the house they are buying, as well as any probable concerns around insulation, damp proofing or drainage. For older buildings or for properties where the buyer is less confident of its condition, a full building survey can be performed, which goes into more detail than a Home Buyer’s Survey, and will point out any additional issues with the property as well as involving an examination of the land surrounding the building.

Other types of survey include a land survey, which will carry out an assessment of the condition of the land. Surveyors can also undertake snagging reports, which are executed after a new build is finished to point out any issues or defects with the quality of the building which may then be rectified.

When searching for a company to attempt surveying work, ensure you choose a chartered surveyor qualified by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors.

Battersea is a residential district of south London in the London Borough of Wandsworth. It is 4.8 km south west of Charing Cross. The district has one of southwest London’s major parks, Battersea Park.

In 2001, Battersea had a citizenry of 75,651, but by 2011 the number stood at 73,345, noting a small reduction. There is a large section of public housing estates constructed during the mid-20th century, nearly all situated north of the main railway lines from Fairfield to Queenstown. There are four significantly substantial estates; Surrey Lane Estate to the north, Doddington and Rollo Estate, Patmore Estate towards the east plus the Winstanley Estate, which is recognised for being the birthplace of the garage collective So Solid Crew.

You will find many notable landmarks in Battersea, one of that is the Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Before that, the Temporary Home for Lost and Starving Dogs was based in Battersea following moving from Holloway in 1871. Other landmarks include the New Covent Garden Market, a significant vegetable and fruit wholesale market, along with the now disused Battersea Power Station which was built between 1929 and 1939. There have already been a lot of redevelopment projects since the 1980s to transform the station into an entertainment and commercial centre, but at this point all attempts failed.
